Requirments
What you
need to Bring to a LAN Party?
Your Computer:
-
400 Mhz CPU or
better (Remember faster GOOD, slower bad!)
-
At least 32-64 Megs
of RAM (More better, less Bad!)
-
3D graphics
accelerator card (Faster GOOD!)
-
Monitor
-
Head phones (no
speakers)
-
Your Game
controllers (Mouse, Joystick, Gamepads, etc.)
-
Keyboard
-
10/100 Ethernet
card (Fully installed and operational)
-
TCP/IP
protocol must be installed
-
Please don't bring
other peripherals like printers, scanners, etc (its
just pointless and takes up excess space)
Your power and video
cables.
Games installed
on your hard drive and patched to latest patches. See game
info page for our patch levels. We aren't going
to play Software Police here, but own the software you
play.
Antiviral software
installed on your system, definitions up-to-date, and computer scanned
BEFORE the LAN party. We hate to have to say this,
but if you bring an infected computer to Carolina
ARMAGEDDON!, either knowingly or not, you will be asked to
leave. If you are unsure, ask a CCGA crew member to
help you BEFORE hooking into the network.
Your OS disk's
(Just in case) and don't forget your drivers:)
Yourself (Hey,
we need targets!)
Make sure that your
system and all games are working perfectly the day BEFORE
the LAN party. The RGN crew is running and playing at the
party and does not have time to install cards, software,
or fix your computer. We can of course... For a fee
$$$.
